Book summary¶

Medical School IV runs April 1, 1988 – May 25, 1989. Widower Mike finishes IM, runs EM and surgical Sub-Is, then pathology, cardiology, ICU, and a final ED block while grieving Elizaveta and dating through Nadiya, Danika, Sara, and others — until Kristina (Kris) Korolyov arrives (Oksana’s cousin). They are betrothed September 4, 1988 and crowned January 1, 1989 at the Columbus Cathedral; Rachel becomes Rachel Michelle Korolyov-Loucks with Kris’s adoption underway. Match Thursday March 16, 1989: Trauma Surgery, Moore Memorial. MLE Step 2 (May 12) yields 276 (99th %ile). On May 25 Mike is valedictorian, summa cum laude, and walks as Doctor Michael Peter Loucks — Residency starts July 1.
