Summer 1983 — room 348 in Rickenbacker with roommate Chelsea; makeup classes; Mike gives church rides, morning runs, and karate company but avoids joint prayer as too intimate and will not resume sex without counseling. June 5, 1983 — Liturgy ride; shares depression/neuroticism treatment and counselor's ban on short-term romance; skips Milton Lake to give Mike time with Liz. June 4 — dinner and Vespers with Mike; asks him to play guitar casually in the dorm common area after church. June 11 — lunch with Mike and Tasha; Vespers ride; evening hang in dorm. June 17 — planned dinner and Octopussy with Mike and visiting Becky. June 19–21 — church with Mike and Becky; karate; notes Becky/Maggie culture shock. GM3 ch 28 (Sept 22–23, 1983): Aloof on campus; blushes and walks ahead when Robby/Lee crude teasing embarrasses her; Sophia reports she still wants Mike and resents his openness with other girls while refusing her.

GM3 ch 30 (Sept 27, 1983): Accepts Mike's apology for Summer rigidity and dorm teasing; saw Tasha at church two Sundays prior; agrees to resume morning runs with Mike; not dating.

GM3 ch 31 (Oct 1, 1983): Will ride to church with Mike regularly (drops Tatyana rides). Asks to resume praying together; demands sex as the only way past Mike's caution (Zeno/Gordian Knot); refuses his hugs/kisses-first offer; leaves Vespers with Tatyana without speaking. Unaware Mike and Tasha are sleeping together.

GM3 ch 32 (Oct 2–9, 1983): Skips church ride Oct 2 but attends Liturgy; avoids Mike at lunch; resumes silent morning runs Oct 3; karate/Vespers/Blahnik party with group. Oct 9 car talk — frustrated after Tatyana ride; Mike offers slow path from «square one» and says sex ultimatum may be deliberate sabotage; chapter ends on her need to decide.

GM3 ch 34 (Oct 11–14, 1983): Passive-aggressive silence on church rides and runs through Oct 14; refuses Mike's ~6:45am ultimatum to talk or end the routine; last seen outside dorm after the run. Missing before breakfast; skips class; Jeannette/Marie alert Mike. Told Anna Wilson (and likely others) she and Mike were a couple though they were not intimate beyond occasional hugs/cheek kisses since one serious kiss ~two years prior.

GM3 ch 38 (Oct 29, 1983): Father Nicholas reports brief phone contact; Buffalo priest brought Eucharist; back in Cincinnati under her doctors (details withheld). Mike tells priest she called herself a couple while refusing to date him; dorm «Mrs. Loucks» teasing; doctor heard couple claim after her first meltdown.
